Terms of Service.
Last updated July 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Steady mobile application and the studywithsteady.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by Steady ("Steady," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Steady. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use Steady with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. The Service is currently offered to users in Canada and the United States.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at the email below if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
What Steady does
Steady helps students track courses, assessments, deadlines, and grades, including by parsing syllabuses and calendar feeds you provide to automatically populate your semester. Steady is a study-organization tool: it does not guarantee the accuracy of any parsed data, and you are responsible for verifying dates, weights, and grades against your official course materials.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or data.
- Upload content you do not have the right to upload, or that infringes another party's rights.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including circumventing rate limits or quotas.
- Use the Service to upload malicious code or attempt to reverse-engineer the app.
Subscriptions and payment
Steady may offer optional paid subscription plans. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and our billing partner, RevenueCat. Subscription pricing, billing cycles, renewal, and cancellation are governed by the applicable App Store's terms. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. We do not process or store your payment card details directly.
Your content
You retain ownership of the academic data and files you upload to Steady (e.g., syllabuses, course names, grades). You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the Service to you — including sending syllabus or calendar content to our AI parsing provider for the sole purpose of extracting structured course data on your behalf.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, branding, and underlying software, is owned by Steady and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if required to do so by law.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that parsed academic data will always be accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steady shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including reliance on any parsed or calculated academic data.
Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; if we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
